- Be involved in a peer-to-peer mentoring relationship.
- Expand the local Knowledge Network by joining GAINnet.

- Be sure that your business or tech organization is connected to the iG Community Calendar, which will roll out in 2011.
LEARN
- Help reduce drop-out rates by hiring an at-risk high school student at your business. Contact FloridaWorks Business Services (352.334.7100) to have your company participate in the iG “Earn While You Learn” program.
- Mentor a student – choose from several different programs to make a difference in a student’s life and help them to stay in school.
INVEST
- Invest in yourself and in your employees by attending training and seminars. Nationally renowned economist Brian Beaulieu will be in Gainesville Oct. 6 to give an economic forecast for the next few years. Network and learn how your business should prepare for the future.
- Take advantage of training grants that may be available through state or federal resources. Contact the Council for Economic Outreach or FloridaWorks to see how you can increase the skill levels of your employees.
SPEAK
- Put the iG cling in a visible location at your business.
- Add the iG logo on your company’s website, with a link to www.innovationgainesville.com. You can download the logo here.
- Send us a picture of you wearing your iG shirt as you travel the state, country and world – we’ll post it to our Facebook page.
- Talk the talk and walk the walk – Memorize the elevator speech on the inside of the iG card and talk about iG.
- Become an iG Advocate, handing out iG cards at meetings around town, around Florida and around the world.
CELEBRATE
- Attend Innovation Gainesville, Chamber of Commerce, GAIN and other entrepreneurial networking events.
- Send us your cool and innovative business practices and we will pick one cool thing monthly to feature on the iG website.
